Je Suis Animal mix late 80's indie with a generous dose of 60's psychedelia, a spoonful of naive melody and a pinch of girly harmonies into their magic potion. The result is magical, striking and uncannily
beautiful. Having met at art school in the UK, the band settled in Oslo, Norway in 2004 and began forging a sound inspired by their love for dreamy melodic pop and all the best bits of their art degree.
In March 2008 Je Suis Animal were interviewed in the UK music magazine Plan B. Tom Robinson and Steve Lamacq have played songs from their album on their BBC Radio shows – Lamacq commenting, "this is one of those engaging records you come across".
The 7” was engineered by Steinar from cult Oslo indie pop band The Tables. You heard them right? Their first album Shady Whims & Obstacles is a classic, and if you don't know it, you're in for a treat, it's like a cross between The Television Personalities and Sgt Pepper. We recorded at Spendless Studio in Oslo on analogue tape. Lots of good records have been made there (early Serena Maneesh EPs, Beautiful People (now called 120 Days), Ethnobabes, etc.
